1. Who we are
Mon Chiot is a portal that connects families with responsible, verified puppy breeders across Québec and Ontario. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this site, why we collect it, and what rights you can exercise, in accordance with Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, as amended by Law 25.
2. Person responsible for the protection of personal information
Any request concerning your personal information can be sent to our privacy officer, reachable at info@monchiot.ca.
3. Mon Chiot's role — a portal, not a sales intermediary
Mon Chiot lists ads published by independent breeders. We do not sell any puppy, do not process any payment, and do not collect your contact details to pass them on to a breeder on your behalf. When you decide to contact a breeder, that exchange happens directly between you and them, outside our platform.

We collect no sensitive information and never ask for banking details through this site. Note about this demo: on this mockup version, the new-litter alert form does not actually transmit or store any email address (see the terms of use).
5. Cookies and analytics technologies
No analytics cookie is set before your explicit consent. The banner shown on your first visit lets you accept or decline, and declining is exactly as easy as accepting. You can revisit your choice at any time using the "🍪 Cookies" button at the bottom of every page.
Cookies strictly necessary for the site to function — remembering your consent choice, for instance — are set without consent, as the law allows.
6. Disclosure to third parties
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. Your contact details are never disclosed to a breeder without an explicit action on your part; they are shared only with providers necessary to operate the site (hosting, analytics), and only to the extent required.
7. Hosting and place of processing
This site is hosted on a server located in Canada. If a provider were to process your information outside Québec, we would first carry out the privacy factor assessment required by Law 25.
8. Your rights
- Access — obtain a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Rectification — have inaccurate or incomplete information corrected.
- Withdrawal of consent — withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting a request already in progress.
- Deletion — request deletion of information whose purpose has been fulfilled.
- Portability — receive your information in a structured, commonly used technological format.
- Complaint — file a complaint with Québec's Commission d'accès à l'information if our response does not satisfy you.
We respond to any request within a maximum of 30 days.
9. Security
The site is served entirely over HTTPS. In the event of a privacy incident presenting a risk of serious harm, we would notify the affected individuals as well as the Commission d'accès à l'information, as required by law.

Any change to this policy will be published on this page, with a revised update date.
